Cape Fear Community College is proud to announce the opening of a brand-new, state-of-the-art dental clinic in the Dan and Sheila Saklad Health and Human Services Center. This major expansion represents a significant leap forward for both CFCC’s dental programs and the community members who rely on the college for affordable, high-quality dental care.

The move to the Saklad Center has allowed CFCC to significantly expand its capacity. The Dental Assisting program has grown from 18 to 30 students, and the Dental Hygiene program has increased from 12 to 20 students. The clinic has also grown from 12 to 30 patient operatories, allowing CFCC to serve twice as many community members with preventive and restorative care.

New advanced dental training simulation mannequins provide students with realistic, hands-on practice before treating patients, ensuring high-quality care and skill development.

“Our new dental clinic is more than just an educational facility; it’s a community resource,” said Jim Morton, CFCC President. “We’re training the next generation of dental professionals while meeting a critical need for accessible dental services.”
