“Patty’s Place” Announces Grand Opening in Downtown Burgaw, North Carolina

Patty’s Place is held its grand opening on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 106 West Courthouse Street in downtown Burgaw. 

Owned and operated by Chef Khristen Hunter, Patty’s Place is the fourth restaurant project from Richard Johnson, founder of Burgaw Now and the Own Your Own initiative. Chef Khristen was a finalist in the Own Your Own Competition held in Burgaw, NC, in 2023. At Patty’s Place, she will be serving up stacked omelets with pancakes, along with a full menu of classic diner breakfasts. 

After competing in the Own Your Own Nationwide Restaurant Competition in fall 2023, Khristen and Richard Johnson partnered to bring Patty’s Place to life. The diner will be located in a 2,800-square-foot renovated building in the heart of downtown Burgaw, blending modern dining amenities with its historic charm. 

For Khristen, family is everything. She built Patty’s Place with the hope that every guest who walks through the door feels the same warmth, care, and connection she experienced growing up. “Here at Patty’s Place, you’re not just a customer- you’re family”. Khristen’s passion for cooking began in the kitchen alongside her mother, Patty, where she learned the cherished family recipes and discovered the joy of creating meals that bring people together. 

Patty’s Place will offer a wide range of classic diner breakfasts, including hearty omelets, fluffy pancakes, biscuits, breakfast platters, and homestyle sides. The restaurant provides

ample seating for diners to enjoy a relaxed sit-down meal with family and friends, while grab-and-go options will also be available soon for those on the move. 

Hours of Operation: 

● Sunday: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM 

● Monday: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM 

● Wednesday – Saturday: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM 

● Closed on Tuesday
