1. Tell us a little about yourself, including the position you are running for and what are your qualifications for the position you are seeking.

My name is Joshua Patti, and I am running for the North Carolina House of Representatives in District 16. I am a father of eight, an educator with more than 20 years of experience, and a local elected official currently serving as Councilman of the Town of Holly Ridge. My background is rooted in public service, education, and community leadership. I have worked directly with families, students, and local governments, which has given me a practical understanding of how state policies affect everyday life. I bring experience, accessibility, and a strong commitment to serving constituents rather than political insiders.

2. If you are an incumbent, what have been your greatest accomplishments for the community while in office? If you are not an incumbent, what inspired you to run for this office and what changes would you make?

I am not an incumbent. I was inspired to run because I believe our district deserves a representative who shows up, listens, and stays connected to the community. Too often, people feel disconnected from Raleigh and unheard in the decision making process. I want to change that by being an active, visible, and responsive legislator. I believe in common sense solutions, fiscal responsibility, and collaboration to ensure growth, education, and infrastructure decisions are made with long term impacts in mind.

3. Please name 3 goals you would work to complete during your term if elected.

My first goal is to promote fiscal responsibility and transparency by ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent wisely and efficiently with accountability at every level.

My second goal is to support education in all its forms by strengthening public schools while also respecting and supporting private, charter, and homeschool options chosen by families.

My third goal is to advocate for responsible growth and infrastructure investment so roads, schools, water, sewer, and emergency services keep pace with growth and protect the quality of life for current residents.
