Cape Fear Community College is excited to announce the expansion of the barber shop. This project doubles the program’s student capacity and allows CFCC to serve more community members through affordable barbering services.
The expansion adds 1,100 square feet of instructional and service space and features 10 additional barber chairs. With this growth, CFCC’s Barber School can now accommodate up to 22 students, from the previous capacity of 11. This significant increase will enable more aspiring barbers to receive hands-on training while providing the community with greater access to discounted haircuts and grooming services. This project was supported by a grant from The Endowment.
“This expansion is a win for our students, who gain valuable real-world experience, and for the public who will benefit from high-quality, affordable barbering services,” said Jim Morton, CFCC President. “We’re excited to see how this expansion will open doors for more students and further connect us with the community.”
The CFCC Barber School offers comprehensive training in traditional and modern barbering techniques, preparing students for licensure and successful careers in the industry. In addition to classroom instruction, students gain real-world experience in a professional setting, serving clients in a welcoming, supervised environment.
